Microsoft RemoteFX è una funzionalità disponibile per i clienti che utilizzano la piattaforma Servizi Desktop remoto in Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1.

I servizi Desktop remoto consentono ai responsabili IT di implementare e gestire centralmente i desktop e le applicazioni da remoto, pur mantenendo la sicurezza dei dati sui server nei data center. Microsoft RemoteFX, supportato dalle schede grafici professionali ATI FirePro, consente agli utenti di accedere - da una vasta gamma di dispositivi - a desktop di Windows 7 in una infrastruttura desktop virtuale (VDI).

AMD offre il supporto a Microsoft Windows Server 2008 R2 con le schede grafiche professionali  ATI FirePro V5800, V7800, V8800 e V9800.
